Retail
A concept for connecting a boutique's POS to its Shopify store so the last item can only be sold once — and returns work from either channel.
Concept project
A worked design exploration, not a client engagement. The business described is hypothetical and no results are claimed.
The challenge
Imagine an independent fashion boutique that sells in-store and on Shopify. Stock is updated by hand each evening, the last item in a size is regularly sold twice, and online returns brought to the shop create confusion.

Approach
Choose where stock truth lives and how each channel reads from it.
Match POS variants to Shopify variants by barcode.
Near-real-time updates via webhooks, with a safety buffer online.
Let the POS look up and refund Shopify orders.
Solution design
Sales in either channel update the other.
Online reservations appear as pick lists on the POS.
Online orders can be returned and refunded in the shop.
A daily check that flags any stock discrepancies.
Goals we would measure against
Design goals for a concept — not results from a real deployment.
Restaurants
A concept for replacing paper tickets, three separate tills and a weekly spreadsheet with a shared POS, kitchen display and group reporting.
Logistics and field services
A concept for a mobile app that replaces paper job sheets with checklists, photos and signatures — and still works in a basement with no signal.
